Lighthouse Int’l filmfest to be held drive-in

The coronavirus pandemic around the world has set off the first drive-in film festival in the US.

The 12th edition of the Lighthouse International Film Festival (LIFF) has scheduled to modify into a drive-in version at the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the official website of the event, the fest will be held on June 16-20 in Long Beach Island.

According to the official website of the festival, the audience will be able to watch a selection of fine movies on big screens and in the comfort of their personal vehicles to observe the guidelines of social distancing and health.

Movie discussion panels, workshops and the rest of the side cultural activities have been planned to be called off this year due to the global crisis.

The announced lineup of this year’s edition of the LIFF includes Joe Duca’s ‘Her Name Was Jo’, ‘Milkwater’ by Morgan Ingari, ‘A Case of Blue’ directed by Dana H. Glazer, Lothar Herzog’s ‘1986’ and Lanie Zipoy’s ‘The Subject’.

The drive-in theaters that have once been very popular in the past have seen declines through times especially with the new advancements in technology.

This year, however, the new pandemic has prompted the idea of having social evenings by attending the specific venues.

In Iran, too, recently there have been movie screenings in these particular cinemas.

‘Exodus’ (Exit) by Ebrahim Hatamikia and ‘Talla’ by Parviz Shahbazi have been among the screened movies which have been very well-received by the audiences.
